Rock Formation

 Our Science topic this year is Rocks, Fossils and Soils. We completed an investigation to help us understand rock formation.


We use starburst to first simulate how sedimentary rock is formed of layers compressed together.










Then we found out how metamorphic rocks are formed when sedimentary or igneous rocks are exposed to heat and pressure.










Finally, we investigated how igneous rocks are formed when molten magma cools into a crystallised solid.
