Recreating an Ancient Egyptian shaduf in DT!

Year 3 Jays are loving learning about The Ancient Egyptians already this term!

Today, in DT, the children put their trial and error skills to the test by experimenting with different resources to make a shaduf water collection device.

I was very impressed with the children's ability to study a design and construct their model without any instructions! We also combined our science learning to figure out how to weigh one end of the carrying arm down - a key feature of a shaduf that made it easier to manoeuvre it around.

What fantastic team workers Year 3 Jays have been today.
