Victorian jobs!

Today in History, we investigated Victorian jobs in Leeds. We mainly focused on factory workers, chimney sweeps and cotton workers. First, we predicted what we thought the jobs were, how many hours they would work, what the conditions were like and how much they got paid. After, we watched a variety of videos explaining what life was actually like for children who worked in factories, cotton mills and as a chimney sweep. We were very shocked. After, we discussed how that is different to now and how our British Values would prevent children working now. Finally, we had the chance to hot-seat as these workers and ask a variety of questions about their life.
