Year 3 Maths - Telling the time
Next week, Year 3 pupils will be extending their knowledge of time.
They will be estimating and reading the time to the nearest minute and writing the time in seconds, minutes and hours. Pupils will be able to use vocabulary like o'clock, am and pm, morning, afternoon, noon and midnight.
We'll be securing our knowledge of the number of seconds in a minute as well as the number of days in each month, year and leap year.
Any real-life practice the children get in terms of reading an analogue clock and talking about seconds, minutes, hours and days in months and years will be extremely valuable for them.
